U.S. businesses spend $60 billion on energy. EnTouch’s message to the forum: transform that into profitability and competitive advantage using the latest energy management technologies.
One of the technology industry’s hot tickets is the Pacific Crest Global Technology Leadership Forum, and EnTouch Controls President and CEO Greg Fasullo was invited to present at this year’s event to speak on the latest energy management technologies, which wrapped up this week in Vail, Colorado.
Nearly, 1,000 industry leaders participated in the event with keynotes given by some of the leading companies in the industry. This year, major public energy management firms such as Enernoc and Opower presented alongside of EnTouch.
Greg’s panel, “How Renewables and Energy Management Technologies are Changing the Utility Landscape”, was moderated by Dave Kalez of Pacific Crest and featured insights from CEO’s of leading solar energy companies, public policy organizations, and analysts covering the utility and renewables industries. A common theme among the participants was that fundamental changes in energy policy and the continued expansion of distributed generation were pushing utility providers to innovate their businesses or risk long-term consequences and at the same time creating pressure for energy efficiency technologies to reduce overall consumption. Upcoming EPA restrictions on CO2 emissions are driving utilities to move away from coal as a primary generation source, some projections forecast this will reduce 120 GW of generation in the next few decades. Distributed generation technologies like solar are further complicating the economic and operational model for utilities, forcing them to embrace these technologies and develop new business models to evolve their business. These challenges are creating urgency and opening opportunities for innovative businesses like EnTouch Controls.
In his talk, Greg highlighted how energy management technologies, when coupled with managed services, have been able transform the way energy is used in US commercial facilities – restaurants, retail chains, service businesses, and educational facilities. Today, most of these operators lack the expertise and tools to tackle energy efficiency programs, resulting in significant waste and an equally significant opportunity for improvement. Greg shared his vision of how cloud-based energy management services, like those provided by EnTouch Controls, can transform the way commercial businesses think about and consume energy. By managing energy these businesses have an opportunity to benefit the environment, address the challenges faced by utilities and consumers, and simultaneously transition their energy costs from a $60 billion burden to an opportunity to increase profitability and gain competitive advantage.
Presenting at the Pacific Crest Global Technology Forum is another sign of the significant impact that EnTouch Controls is making in the market.
